“Unprecedented Multiple Tornado Outbreak Devastates Rural Georgia”
ATLANTA, GEORGIA — In what meteorologists are calling an unprecedented and catastrophic event, a series of at least five massive tornadoes touched down simultaneously in rural areas of south-central Georgia late Wednesday afternoon, leaving a trail of destruction across farmland and small communities.
The outbreak, captured in harrowing images showing colossal wedge-shaped twisters under a brooding sky lit with lightning, has been described as one of the most intense tornado clusters ever recorded in the southeastern United States. Robert Carlos has confirmed multiple EF4 and possible EF5 tornadoes, with wind speeds estimated to exceed 200 miles per hour (322 km/h).
Eyewitnesses reported a surreal, apocalyptic scene: towering black funnels twisting across golden fields, telephone poles snapped like twigs, and a deafening roar echoing across the horizon. “It looked like the sky was ripping itself apart,” said James Whitaker, a farmer from Dodge County, who narrowly escaped with his family.
Residents are urged to remain indoors, monitor local alerts, and prepare for the possibility of further storms overnight.
This is a developing story.
