A light ambulance plane crashed Sunday afternoon at London Southend Airport in Essex, about 72 km east of central London. The plane was a Beechcraft Super King Air, en route to Lelystad, the Netherlands. The exact number of occupants on board has not yet been confirmed. The plane originally took off from Pula, Croatia, arriving in the morning for a medical mission. It subsequently departed from London Southend Airport bound for Lelystad, the Netherlands, when the crash occurred shortly after takeoff around 4:00 p.m. local time.
