3 Tropical cyclones simultaneously spinning across the Western Pacific (WPAC) basin

We now have THREE active, named tropical cyclones simultaneously spinning across the Western Pacific (WPAC) basin. This is the first time in eight years for the month of July.

  • TS Francisco (#DantePH) has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 3:00 PM today, as it moves towards the East China Sea.
  • TY Co-May (#EmongPH) begins to loop before turning northeastward towards the Ilocos Region.
  • TS Krosa is affecting the Marianas while moving poleward towards the north-central Pacific Ocean.

DANTE and EMONG are having a binary interaction, commonly known as the Fujiwhara effect, while also both enhancing the Southwest Monsoon (#HabagatPH).
